HE'S BACK

Hi.

After a (sp?) one month hiatus (that was a vocab word! Public schools aren't as bad as some people say they are. Wait...I already knew what hiatus meant...nevermind. They're just here to culture us. Is culture a verb? I don't know...) I've decided to return. Well, it's not like I wasn't going to...?

Hm. OK. I'm back! Let's talk. This is going to be a long post, so if you have a short attention span, you might want to stop reading. Well, I actually have a short attention span but I have to write all of this, so nevermind. IF YOU HAVE A SHORT ATTENTION SPAN YOU MUST KEEP READING.

What do you want to talk about? Me? You? Let's talk about me. I don't see the point of writing in second person (I learned what second person is from Mrs. Berry!). Summer reading finally happened, mostly during the first week of school. I've never stayed up until 4 on a school night... I know I'll get an F on one...it was dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. Mrs. Berry, if you're reading this, I'm so sorry I made you read that! dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. dreadful. I don't see myself doing well on the Crime and Punishment paper, either. I think one or two are B worthy, though.

Uhhh who actually reads this? If you would all comment so I know who actually reads this piece of sh....aring of love I would appreciate it hahahahaha..hahaha...haha....hhhhhhhhhhh..................a............................................

So the first three days of school were torture. And by torture I mean, like, being tortured. CPS (have I mentioned how much I love public schools?). Let's see if I remember all of this...

  • Tuesday (p.s. the first day of school)
    • came in for English, love Mrs. Berry, early bird and first bell
    • ran through our bell schedule (pour moi: English AP, Bio AP, Euro History AP, Orchestra x2, Lunch, Piano 1 (which turned into Orchestra 2 (which has turned into I go to Mr. Norman's room)), Calc AP) with 8 minutes per class
      • WOW THAT WAS SO (not) PRODUCTIVE
    • playground seminar, 10-12 grades
      • Ms. Pirchner (is back) tried to direct "this or that," in which students select a side of the playing area based on their preference of, for example, Burger King or McDonald's
        • many of us stayed on the side with the most shade
      • then we split up into small groups to keep playing the game. AT LEAST MY GROUP LEADER WAS MRS. BERRY! I ROOL!
      • this activity taught us that even though we have differences of opinion, we can still live in harmony
      • WOW YOU GUYS IF YOU HAVE FREE TIME AND ARE LOOKING FOR AN ACTIVITY TO DO I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE ACTIVITY THIS OR THAT B/C IT REALLY OPENED MY HEART AND MIND LYKE IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND LYKE IF YOU LIKE SALTY FOODS AND I LIKE SWEET FOODS WE CAN ACTUALLY GET ALONG EVEN THOUGH A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULDN'T THINK WE COULD SO YEAH PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITY THIS OR THAT
    • classroom seminar in groups
      • we discussed behavior in the bathroom, in the hallway, on the bus, etc.
        • really important stuff
          • really, really important stuff
            • .............
    • lunch
      • ha...ha...
    • gym (then to classroom) classroom seminar
      • how to exhibit self control
      • we got mints
    • auditorium seminar
      • bullying is bad
        • srsly don't do it
      • umm why are we wasting our time at school when we could be doing summer HW?
  • Wednesday
    • early bird
    • class meeting
      • Mrs. Meyers (new ass. (haha) principal) storms into meeting and tells a few girls that their clothes are inappropriate, and that we should have listened to the announcement Dr. Futch (new principal, hasn't slept with anyone as far as I know...seems pretty kewl) made the day before about the dress code
        • even though it was during one of our seminars so no one could hear it
    • ran through bells
    • playground seminar
      • played the trust game
        • Anna, Valerie and I did it the classic way (one person falls back on the other, who slides his or her arms under the faller's arms to catch them
        • Mr. New informs us that we're playing a completely different game and we are supposed to have two people catching the faller with cupped hands...
        • YOU GUYS IF YOU WANT TO PLAY A GOOD ACTIVITY TO FIND OUR WHO YOU CAN TRUST YOU SHOULD PLAY THE TRUST GAME B/C YOU WILL KNOW WHO YOUR REAL FRIENDS ARE IF THEY CATCH YOU
    • classroom seminar
      • what is fairness
        • wow this classroom seminar was necessary for the improvement of ourselves, our school, our district, our city, our county, our state, our region, our country, our continent, our hemisphere, our world, and our universe
        • and God (just kidding, God)
    • lunch
      • went up with Gabby to say hi to Ms. Pirchner
        • got roasted by Ms. Pirchner for not being in the lunchroom or outside during lunch
        • proceeded to wander the halls
    • gym seminar
      • Mrs. Magistrelli told us why it is important to be organized
        • and started to tell us the top 10 ways to be organized
        • #1 was "Planners. You all will be getting SCPA planners. They are $5 each. You all have to buy one."
          • she couldn't get through the other 9 ways because there was a huge uproar by all 350 of us 10-12th grade students (the fire capacity in the gym is 350; I'm almost positve there were more than 350 of us up there, but I know every last one of us would have gotten down four flights of steps and outside safely if there had been a fire)
      • gym seminar had to end early......
        • hahahahahahahahahahilarious
    • auditorium seminar
      • be nice to gay people
  • Thursday (last day of this!)
    • early bird
    • major meetings for juniors and seniors
      • Mr. Stuckey basically told us no college would want us if we didn't have Practicum on our transcript
    • bell schedule
    • playground seminar
      • dance the rumba
        • only Ms. Thomas's group danced the rumba
      • ummm if you guys are bored you can dance the rumba I guess...I don't really know what this was for...
    • classroom seminar
      • discuss in groups of 4-5 what we learned in the past three days
        • I think this was the only beneficial time period throughout the 72 hours. I learned that everyone felt the same way I felt.
    • lunch
    • gym seminar
      • let's make skits about how to behave in class
        • uhhhh.......no
    • auditorium seminar
      • let's watch drama ensemble do a skit about how to behave in class
        • they're pretty good
  • the end

  • So I'm really drained after writing all that. You're probably drained from reading all that. Now imagine actually experiencing this...Every single one of us was glad this was over. I think we all agree that the school needs to change for the better, but there needs to be discussion about how to make this work. HMMMMMM MAYBE THE ADULTS SHOULD LISTEN TO THE CHLDRENZ.

Ohhhh I'm so tired...Don't forget to comment!

We have so many ripe tomatoes from our garden.
