At the beginning of the year, Ms. Berry said that if she is absent, we do not have to come to early bird.
- early bird is before the regular school day
- we were unattended to for almost an hour
This middle part is not clear to me, but someone at school started tripping and sent that one lady (Ms. Grossman?) to the classroom. The two who remained told her where the rest of us were, and they got roasted. Word spread.....
We got back (TECHNICALLY BEFORE SCHOOL EVEN STARTED) and (Ms. Grossman?) was in Ms. Berry's seat and had marked all of us absent. "Did you guys have fun on your coffee break?" she asked. I think one or some replied, "YES!" Then a real sub came (late) and said that we are the good students, the best students, etc...and (Ms. Grossman?) left with an eyeroll, saying, "Oh yeah they're good, alright..."
We started on our work, and Ms. Meyerz (sp?haha) came and told (yelled-ish) us with her usual I'm-better-than-you-and-you-should-be-afraid-of-me attitude and told us we were wrong. We tried to tell her our side, and she said "Well, I'll have to talk to Ms. Berry, then."
ahem....
It is pathetic to be at a school that so desperately wants to change for the better - we were practically force-fed the idea of Positive School Culture on the first three days - but doesn't grasp the fact that respect isn't a one stop shop; it can't just be about students showing respect for faculty and staff. When students feel they aren't respected, they will respond with attitudes far from positive and far from what the school needs; the last thing they will think about is giving respect to the evil adult who just disrespected them. That is the bottom line. If certain authoritative figures can not understand this, our school will continue down the toilet and our image will be completely hampered as we move into the new school.
That's really all I have to say. The end?
